In the summer of 1993, I had an idea of opening a flower shop. My husband was not very supportive of the idea. He could not figure out why I would want to give up a good and very high paying job to go into the retail business. On Sweetest Day of that same year he walked into a local florist shop, waited 45 minutes in line, and was treated like an interruption rather than a customer. He came home and apologized for the arrangement, and also said that I could have my flower shop. On February 4, 1994, J. Alexander's opened for business, (yes 10 days before Valentines Day). We jumped in with both feet. On May 1, 1994, we signed an additional lease for more space. The overall goal of J. Alexander's is to be the best flower and gift shop. We purchase the finest products available on the market for our customers, therefore we will also provide the best service "The Royal Treatment," available to our customers. We strive to make the finest arrangements, with the freshest product available so that our customers will keep coming back. Each employee is a billboard for the company, and service is our goal. We are not out to sell every person in the county flowers, we are here to service each and every one of our customers to the fullest.

Our shop is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. We are closed on Sundays. During the Christmas season, we extend our Sunday hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the two weeks prior to Christmas we extend our closing hours to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We do close for the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

A local delivery fee of $7.00 will be added for each order, for each address. For the other areas that we cover, the fees may vary. Hanover area is a $10.00, Grass Lake Area is $15.00 and the Jerome and Brooklyn area is $12.00.
We make deliveries all day long. We do not use a delivery service, therefore, we are not tied into their schedule. Orders received before 2:00 p.m. in the recipient's time zone will be delivered that day. If it is not a holiday, and it is after 2:00 p.m., give us a call, we may be able to deliver your order.
We will do our best to accommodate at specific times, but we don't guarantee it.
Yes we deliver on Sundays.
Deliveries to rural addresses and cemeteries cannot be guaranteed.
We will be happy to accept your international order over the phone, so give us a call, however international delivery is not available online
Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type, but may substitute with another color.
